Event Details

Please register the child(ren) in your group that meet the age recommendations. In the required question, please list all accompanying adults and siblings (with ages).

Children's author Annette Whipple writes informational books to inspire curiosity and wonder in children. She’s the author of twelve published books including The Laura Ingalls Wilder Companion: A Chapter-by-Chapter Guide (Chicago Review Press), Whooo Knew? The Truth about Owls (Reycraft Books), and The Story of the Wright Brothers (Rockridge Press). Her newly-released (March 2024) book Quirky Critter Devotions: 52 Wild Wonders for Kids (Tyndale) combines her passion for science and her personal faith. She's also written articles and activities for several magazines including Cobblestone and Highlights for Children. Her website offers a bounty of free educational activities that connect with her books.

Annette will present an educational talk for kids about animal facts, and have signed copies of her books on hand for purchase (not required) after the presentation.

This month's presentation is recommended for older elementary, tween, and teen children. Some of her books are appropriate for younger children, but the learning activities will be aimed at a higher age group. Adults are encouraged to stay and observe. Younger siblings who can observe quietly are welcome to do so, however if they would disrupt the presentation we thank you for finding alternate arrangements for this time.
