Program Description

Event Details

Monarchs, Democracy, Armies, and Freedom.

These are four things that were being contested on farming fields in western Maryland. In the small quaint town of Sharpsburg, there was a small one room church known as Dunker's Church, a Sunken Road, a cornfield that was a beacon of survival and beautiful stone/concrete bridge that crossed a river known as Antietam Creek. On September 17, 1862, those sights and the town which they were located in were forever engrained in American history. On this fall day, it will be the single most bloody day of battle in all four years of the Civil War.
