Program Description

Event Details

All garden sites are unique, and some sites are particularly challenging. Whether the soil, available light, or environmental conditions make it a tough site for gardening, there are practices and modifications as well as suitable plants that can help a gardener succeed.

Speaker: Peggy Nepps

Speaker Bio: After buying her first home many years ago in Valhalla, New York, Peggy has been an avid home gardener. Her inspiration was the renowned gardening educator, Ralph Snodsmith, who taught at the New York Garden’s adult education program, and hosted a weekly radio show called The Garden Hotline for 35 years. Peggy worked for many years doing teaching, research, and patient care as a clinical psychologist, but retirement provided the opportunity to pursue training as a Penn State Extension Master Gardener. She’s focused her energy and enthusiasm into helping staff Penn State’s Master Gardener Hotline and going out into the community to help others to learn about and love gardening.
