Program Description

Event Details

Adults, older children and teens. Registration is requested to help us plan for snacks and crafts, but we welcome drop in attendees if space allows.

Southern Lancaster County has a rich history, and Quarryville Library is celebrating history all day long today with events to delight all ages!

We are finishing the day with our Author Faire - showcasing local authors whose works include history and historical fiction. If you are a fan of days gone by, you might find some great books to add to your collection or perhaps a perfect holiday gift for a history buff! 

The following local authors will be available to greet you and sign copies of their books for purchase. Some authors also have other collectible materials for sale related to their works. We'll also have some colonial-themed crafts for kids (5+) and some early-American snacks!

Kathy Brabson - Juvenile Biographical fiction:  Life of Thad Stevens: "What part of all men are created equal do you not understand?"  Yurchak Printing, 2013

Lynette Leaman Brenneman - Writer/photographer of multiple juvenile historical fiction works through Cooper Publishing House, notably featuring well-known Lancaster settings.

Robert A. Frick - Local educator, history tour guide and presenter, self-published author of multiple works of American History. Dr. Frick will be greeting patrons in his colonial period garb! 

Nancy C. Groff - Watt & Shand: East, West, Hame's Best. Masthof Press, 2022.

Donald Kautz - Mills of Lancaster County, 2023, Conestoga River: a history, 2021. Masthof Press.

Carolyn KleinmanLove, Faith, and the Dented Bullet (2021); The Class Assignment is Murder (2023). Sunbury Press.

J. Arthur Moore - Writer of historical fiction under multiple publishing houses, notably Civil War era stories for older children and teens 

Gregory J. Scott - Urban Legend: The life and legacy of C. Emlen Urban. 2023. Egg and Dart Books.

Jerry D. Simotas - Writer researching the character Smedley Butler for an upcoming work. He will be reenacting this historical person during the event.

Benton Webber - Videographer for the local chapter of the Lafayette200 project. Visit his table to learn more about this exciting national initiative that will be coming to Lancaster this coming July!

Stanley T. White -Multiple works with Michael Roth. Seaber Turner & Associates.
