The Moravian Star: History & Meaning

Thursday, January 18 at 6 pm

Tom Wentzel will discuss the biblical symbolism of the Moravian star and describe how the Moravians used a unique star design as a symbol in their communities worldwide.  Tom will share the first star notations in early Moravian diaries, and when the Herrnhuter Star factory was created to produce and sell the many variations of the Moravian star.  Tom is a long-time member of the Lititz Moravian Congregation where he serves on the Museum and Archives Committee and is also a tour guide for historic Church Square tours. Online registration begins on January 4th.

A raffle will be held for a beautiful queen size afghan depicting the Moravian Star.

All proceeds benefit the library.

Raffle tickets will be sold at the library for $5 per ticket beginning Nov. 13, 2023.

The winning ticket will be drawn the evening of the program.
