Event Details

Author Susan Coventry will discuss the process of writing historical fiction, using her novel Till Taught by Pain as an example. 

She will talk about how to transform history into fiction while staying true to the historical facts by looking at her protagonists: pioneering surgeon (with a cocaine/morphine addiction) Dr. William S. Halsted and his wife, Caroline. She’ll describe the importance of research, her choice to write about real historical figures, and her own journey to publication.
