Kids Make Mittens Fun is a program designed just for our 6 – 9-year-olds. Join us from 3:00- 4:00pm on Monday, December 29^th as we read the beautifully illustrated Jan Brett’s The Mitten. It tells the story of a little boy who lost his mitten. Soon a hedgehog finds the mitten and crawls in, and then a hare. Even a bear squeezes in! After the book, we will construct our very own hanging mitten and learn about some of the animals in the story.

Registration will open at 9:00AM on Wednesday, December 17th for Manheim Township and East Lampeter residents and on Wednesday, December 19th for residents of other municipalities.

Storytime Policies

No Show – Patrons failing to cancel their registration for more than 2 library programs in a month will be restricted from registering for future programs for a period of one month’s time. Please cancel your registrations at least 2 hours prior to the start of the program to allow those on the waiting list to be notified of their change in registration status.

Late Arrivals – Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the program to allow for parking and other circumstances. The program will begin promptly at the designated time. At this time, your spot will be forfeited to those on the wait list who will be granted entry. If spots remain, registrants may be allowed into the program. However, registrants will not be permitted to enter the program 5 minutes past the start time.

Drop Off Program – This program is intended for children over the age of 6 years who can participate independently. Adult(s) must be present to check in child with youth services staff prior to program. Adults will not be allowed in the event space. 

Designated Ages – Please adhere to the age restrictions designated on your registration. Only children in that age range will be admitted.
