Program Description

Event Details

The Patriot Daughters of Lancaster was one of the first ladies aid societies formed after the firing on Fort Sumter in April, 1861. The current group of living historians who portray the Patriot Daughters will share stories of the many ways the ladies of the 1860's provided support to the Union Troops during the Civil War.

Presenters will wear 19th Century attire and share a PowerPoint presentation that includes readings from letters, newspaper articles, and a book written by one of the five members who traveled to Gettysburg to help nurse the wounded after the battle.

All are welcome to attend.
