Event Details
Join Adam Zurn, founder of Uncharted Lancaster, as he recounts his expeditions down the lower Susquehanna to explore the mysterious Native American petroglyphs hidden on the ancient river at Safe Harbor. These 1,000 years old rock carvings represent the oldest man-made artifacts in Lancaster County and one of the most significant archeological sites in the northeastern United States. Zurn will discuss their significance and possible meanings, as well as share some local legends surrounding the pictographs. If you've seen Adam here before, he adds new material to his presentations all the time!
This in-person program is free and open, but registration is required. Perfect for adults and older children who love to explore or enjoy local history. Zurn will have free Uncharted Lancaster stickers and magnets for those in attendance, plus replica arrowheads for children.
For more local history, follow Uncharted Lancaster on Facebook or Instagram or visit the website at www.UnchartedLancaster.com.
