Program Description
Event Details
Ages 2-6 with caregiver. Other family members are welcome.
This is a passive "playscape" based upon a program from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries. Come and enjoy the activities that are set up for this program. It is designed for the caregiver to play with the child, with suggestions for how to enrich the literacy experiences. This session will look at the concept of transportation. Children and parents have the opportunity to explore transportation puzzles, sort and play with a variety of toy vehicles, play a collection of transportation themed file folder games, and read fiction and informational books together. Fine motor skills, sorting and categorization concepts, problem-solving skills, phonological awareness, content area vocabulary and background knowledge are strengthened as parents and children play and learn together.
Registration is not required but if space is limited, registered families will be prioritized.
