Event Details

Butterflies! Bees! Hummingbirds! We can't wait to see them visit our gardens every summer, right? But have you noticed? Have you heard the news? Our pollinator friends that we not only LOVE but NEED are in trouble. Habitat destruction, pesticide use, and invasive species are a few of the things that are making life hard, if not impossible, for pollinators. But it's not too late to help them out! Every one of us can do something to bring them back: plant a garden! In this program, we'll learn the simple steps anyone can take to lend a helping hand, regardless of the size of your yard. We'll show you some of the best plants and practices you can use, then take a look at the library's own pollinator garden for inspiration. You'll leave the program with resources and a plan to do your part for the pollinators.
