Sensory Discovery Storytime

Join Ms. Laura for a fun and engaging sensory discovery storytime program all about winter evergreens! This program is intended for children 3-6 years old. Parents and caregivers are invited to participate with their children to learn how to replicate the activities at home!

We will use our senses to experience the season. We will make art using items from nature and use scented playdoh to make and decorate evergreen trees!

Sensory experiences provide children with opportunities to develop fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, problem solving, logic and concentration. They'll grow their attention spans and practice emotional regulation and mindfulness.

Allergy notice: Please note sensory materials include evergreen branches and flour.

Ms. Laura has over 20 years of preschool classroom experience bringing a wealth of knowledge in early childhood development. Her approach focuses on creating a warm, engaging, and supportive environment where children can thrive.

Adults attending with their child(ren) do NOT need to register. Please add any additional registrants to your registration if more than one child that will be participating in the program.

Registration will open at 9:00AM on Wednesday, December 10th for Manheim Township and East Lampeter residents and on Friday, December 12th for residents of other municipalities.

Storytime Policies

No Show – Patrons failing to cancel their registration for more than 2 library programs in a month will be restricted from registering for future programs for a period of one month’s time. Please cancel your registrations at least 2 hours prior to the start of the program to allow for those on the waiting list to be notified of their change in registration status.

Late Arrivals – Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the program to allow for parking and other circumstances. The program will begin promptly at the designated time. At this time, your spot will be forfeited to those on the wait list who will be granted entry. If spots remain, registrants may be allowed into the program. However, registrants will not be permitted to enter the program 5 minutes past the start time.

Accompanying Adults – This program is for adults and children to enjoy together. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child. Drop offs will not be permitted.

Cancellations- Please check your email prior to departing to verify that the program has not been cancelled.
