Event Details

Lana Ryder has been sharing the healing power of sound, voice and music in one form or another for fifty years, which began with the use of her voice as a healing instrument in music ministry. Well-known throughout the area as a sound therapy educator, mentor (affectionately called “Sound Mama”), and practitioner, her education is ongoing in her studies with globally renowned masters of sound. After attending lectures from Mitch Gaynor, MD, former Chief of Oncology at Strang Cancer Center, Lana was inspired to further study the benefits of sound therapy. After 25 years in traditional medicine, she has spent the next 30 years in holistic practice. She has developed a variety of innovative ways to work with sound integratively in energy healing and bodywork, including ReikiSound, ReikiVoice, Sonic Massage, Soundwise Voice, Introduction to the Fundamentals of the Art and Science of Sound Healing, all manuals and curriculum. She is founding director and senior instructor of Soundwise School of Harmonic Therapy in Lancaster, Pa.

Sound therapy induces the parasympathetic nervous system so that a person is able to receive the potential benefits of self-healing from lowered blood pressure, respiratory and heart rate, increase nitric oxide levels and stimulate the vagus nerve to boost immunity, and may help with anxiety, depression and insomnia.

We will learn how sound therapy can benefit us through not only hearing it but by entrainment. We will learn how to choose a qualified practitioner, and experience a calming, relaxing group sound session using a variety of instruments.

Anyone interested in integrative medicine and natural healing, and the potential healing benefits of sound, voice and music is encouraged to attend.
