Special Storytime with Deputy Fire Chief Borry

October is Fire Safety Awareness month. Join us October 11th at 11:00 in the Morgan Center for a fun and educational storytime event with a real-life hero! Deputy Fire Chief Borry (and his firefighting team) of Manheim Township will be our special guest at the library to read stories about firefighters, fire safety, and community helpers.

In addition to the storytime, kids will learn important fire safety tips, see real firefighter gear up close, and ask questions about what it’s like to be a firefighter. There may even be an opportunity to see the fire truck up close. This event is perfect for families with young children who want to learn about staying safe in a fun and interactive way. This event is recommended for children of all ages.

The participation of the firefighters is dependent upon any emergency situation which may arise and call them away.

The storytime will happen with plenty of fun stories and activities even if they are called away. We will attempt to reschedule the firefighters if their schedule permits.

Please register for each child that will be attending the event so that we have adequate supplies for everyone.

Registration will open at 9:00AM on Wednesday, September 25th for Manheim Township and East Lampeter residents and on Friday, September 27th for residents of other municipalities.
