Lancaster Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is a community tradition that promotes reading for fun and lifelong enrichment. This summer, we are offering a rich variety of programs to spark curiosity, imagination, and learning across all age groups.
In collaboration with STEAM Sneakerheadz™, we’re bringing you a one-of-a-kind summer reading program that makes science and chemistry fun, fresh, and totally hands-on!
Participants will design and customize their own sneaker deodorizer pods while exploring the science behind odor control and product formulation. Through hands-on experimentation, students will work with ingredients such as baking soda, activated charcoal, and fragrance oils to understand how chemistry is used to absorb odors and create effective products.
