Lancaster Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is a community tradition that promotes reading for fun and lifelong enrichment. This summer, we are offering a rich variety of programs to spark curiosity, imagination, and learning across all age groups.
In collaboration with STEAM Sneakerheadz™, we’re bringing you a one-of-a-kind summer reading program that makes science and chemistry fun, fresh, and totally hands-on!
Participants will create custom tie-dye shoelaces while exploring the science of color through both natural and synthetic dyes. Students will experiment with plant-based materials alongside traditional dyeing techniques to compare how different substances interact with fabric.
