Join the Adamstown Area Library and Goodwill for a Career Exploration Workshop which includes exploring options for different career fields, what qualities are important at work, and conducting a self-assessment to match interests to careers. The workshop starts at 4:30 PM and is free.
This workshop also includes the opportunity to conduct over 50 different jobs in an immersive hands-on Virtual Reality experience. It allows job seekers to experience work in different careers and ultimately get on a path to a well-paying job. Simulations are about 10 minutes long. All are available in Spanish. The job categories include agriculture, architecture and construction, finance, health science, hospitality and tourism, human services, information technology, law and public safety, manufacturing, science and technology, and transportation. Registration is required for this event. This program is for individuals aged 14-25.
Your instructor is Lisa Ference, who has a B.S. in Computer Science from Desales University. She is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent who investigated computer crimes and intrusions for the FBI in New York City. She now works at Goodwill Keystone Area, providing learning opportunities in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding counties.
