Whether it was spies, stay at home mothers, wives, activists, nurses, soldiers, or working behind the scenes, women have always taken action. This was the case during the Civil War. While many thought a women's place was at home raising children, instead, women of all ages and backgrounds took action.

Join Civil War Historian Cindy Beaston as she discusses some of the women who defied societal norms and fought for the very rights we hold dear today.
