Program Description

Event Details

This friendly writers’ group, which meets the first, third, and fifth Tuesdays of the month, is for writers who are serious about their craft and in getting their work published. Writers of any genre, from mysteries and contemporary relationship fiction to creative non-fiction and children’s literature, are welcome.

We see this as a critique group meeting in a friendly and relaxed environment. There are many talented writers in our area, and we know that feedback from others is extremely important to them. The group follows a concept that has proven invaluable to the writing community. Participating writers take turns submitting work in progress, not to exceed a certain number of pages. Manuscripts are emailed to members in advance of meetings so they can be read at members’ leisure and the meeting hours are reserved for constructive criticism. This helps writers present their work correctly to agents and publishers. But even more importantly, writers tell us that this format also helps them sharpen their focus, harness their creativity and give them ideas.
