DESCRIPTION:Registration is requested, drop ins are accommodated as space 
 allows. Please join the waitlist as we may schedule a second session if th
 ere is sufficient demand.Block Party is an hour long free play session for
  preschoolers and their caregivers using our library's wooden block s
 et, people, vehicles, animals, scarves, photographs of buildings, and othe
 r accompanying materials where preschoolers have the freedom to build and 
 play as they wish.An adult staff member or volunteer is present to model o
 pen ended questions and other supports for the adults participating.Young 
 children learn best when they are able to construct knowledge through mean
 ingful play. With the materials provided children will build and experimen
 t, manipulate objects, work with others, count and measure, talk about wha
 t they are building and building vocabulary; all activities that will help
  children to achieve the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for early childho
 od in not only STEM areas, but also in language and literacy development, 
 physical development and social and emotional development.Block party has 
 only three rules:1) Adult caregiver must be present in room2) No throwing 
 blocks3) No knocking down anyone else's buildingThis program is spons
