Program Description

Event Details

Participants will be able to learn the history and use of social media and why it was created. Participants will be able to create an account, navigate the interface, upload a photo/video, friend request, verbally and pictorially comment on posts and navigate privacy settings that are comfortable for them. Participants will be able to learn about appropriate photos and language on social media platforms and how the company handles violations of their appropriate use policy. Participants will be able to learn and evaluate requests to be friends on Facebook based on the types of people that make the request and why this is a significant issue on the platform. Funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. Ages 18+.
