Program Description

Event Details

Therapy dogs will be at the library twice a month for students and emerging readers to get more comfortable reading out loud in a judgement-free environment. The 1st Saturday of each month will always be 2 of either Brodie, Brooklyn, or Jessie all from the same owner (medium sized dogs that look like the image on the posters). The 3rd Saturday of the month will have k-pets volunteers who register on their own when available. We may get a broad range of dog breeds and personalities. Feel free to attend both or opt for just one.

Registration for this program offers you the chance to make sure you get a time slot. After all registered patrons arrive, walk-ins will be allowed on the list.

Each child will get a 10-minute time slot to start. If you would like a second slot, you can get on the waitlist by telling Miss Esther. If there are spots left, it will be first come first serve.

If you can't make it after registering, please contact Miss Esther at emartin@manheimlibrary.org or call (717)665-6700 Ext. 4200 for the circulation desk so we can take you off the list and allow everyone a chance.

  • When you arrive, you will need a book to read. You have the library at your disposal or you can bring your own. You can start halfway if you want. Read whatever you like!
